so you don't find it embarrassing that your electoral strategy is actually to demand that we let in tons of broke, homeless people, who you don't actually want in your communities because it was an "unfair problem" that Greg Abbott sent them there in buses?

the shamelessness on the far left is appalling. illegal immigrants cannot vote; why are you pandering to them? :laff:
I find it embarrassing that you don't realize your argument is a politicization of the Hippocratic Oath. The same oath that saves American lives all over this country everyday in ERs.

What's shameful is blaming a random marginalized group of people - who are ironically central to the US economy - for everything from unaffordable healthcare to the housing crisis. If we just fix the border, we'll have affordable healthcare, lower taxes, no unemployment and a budget surplus.

how do you even set up a mechanism for non-citizens to vote in elections, when it's illegal for them to register to vote :laff:

this pandering is pathetic, disgusting, and embarrassing. progressives are a joke

This kind of bullshyt only works on the dumbest people i.e. you and the MAGA scum you're quoting.

There was nothing "word salad" about Bass' answer. She is 100% correct.

Candidates were asked whether noncitizens should be allowed to vote in local elections, a reference to the recent efforts undertaken by Los Angeles City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martínez that could potentially let noncitizens in Los Angeles cast their ballot for races like mayor.

Though it was intended to be a yes or no question — Pratt said no — Bass and Raman had more to say on the topic.

Bass said it depends, and that “we have to see what” Soto-Martínez is proposing.

“When you say noncitizens, it doesn’t mean they’re here illegal,” Bass said. “It doesn’t mean they’re undocumented. They could have green cards. They could be here perfectly legal, and there’s a lot of states and cities that do that on very, very local elections.”

Raman said it does depend, but was quickly cut off as one moderator posed a new question.

There are already states where non-citizens can vote in very local elections. That doesn't mean they can vote in presidential, congressional, or statewide elections.

A handful of local governments — mainly municipalities in Maryland and Vermont and a few individual cities — have legally extended the franchise to some noncitizen residents for municipal or school board elections, but no U.S. state as a whole currently allows noncitizens to vote in statewide or federal contests (and federal and state elections remain restricted to citizens) [1] [2] [3]. Reporting and legal trackers show the expansion is local and patchwork, subject to lawsuits and state constitutional limits, and the phenomenon remains numerically small and tightly regulated [4] [5].
4. Safeguards election officials use and the scale of participation:
Jurisdictions that permit noncitizen municipal voting typically use administrative safeguards — separate ballots or separate voter lists — to ensure noncitizen registrants do not receive ballots for state or federal contests (Maryland cities are an example) [5]. Multiple independent audits and academic reviews cited by election-law analysts find actual instances of noncitizen voting in broader elections are extremely rare; investigations in several states have produced minimal evidence of noncitizen participation in state or federal contests [6] [2].

I respect the amount of effort going to show evidence to @the cac mamba that most of his beliefs are bullshyt served up to him by his algorithm.

However, all of you are wasting your time. He is stupid and arrogant. No matter how many times he gets shown evidence that he is wrong, he will be repeating thr same talking points within days, if not hours.

The reason we spend so much on healthcare isn't because of illegal immigrants. It's because our healthcare system is inefficient and too many people end up in the ER with preventable issues or because they don't have insurance and the ER (the most expensive form of healthcare) is their only option. Not to mention insurance companies eat up a lot of money. Having universal healthcare would save the country WAY more money than trying to round up immigrants (which actually costs money) and there are plenty of studies.

So lets not pretend the costs are your real issue here :mjlol: that said I know the idea that not every problem in the world is because of immigrants or some other minority group is probably too nuanced for you, so feel free to ramble about the "far left" if you want
I don’t think it’s fair to say that universal healthcare would be cheaper that the healthcare spend to day because no one knows what American universal healthcare will look like

In order for universal healthcare to work you need healthy people that won’t be using healthcare to pay for the biggest users.

I don’t see how republicans or the Supreme Court allow the US to mandate people pay for health insurance

This is another one who we shouldn’t be trying to prove anything to since he rejects math, science, logic and truth as well.

How will American Universal healthcare be cheaper than the current system?

How do you legislate that every American must pay for healthcare?

How do you even get 60 votes for this?

You don't care about facts. You don't care about any analysis. And worst of all, you are politically coward. You would have been the dude who thought the SCLC and SNCC were doing too much and didn't have enough support.

Michiganders are letting it be known what topics are most important to them as election season powers on

Surprised AIPAC wasn’t mentioned, but maybe it was number 2

Let the rebuild continue.
