We tried last election. White Leftists went third party or didn't vote. The others went Republican or didn't vote.

This isn't really true.

Whether we like it or not, Trump won because he was too popular :francis: especially among white people and Latinos

And because too many people won't vote for a black woman

Part of the conversation. That means responsibility. That means moving off bad candidates like Kamala and looking forward. Both sides of the democrat party need to in order to transform the country.

That means convincing independents and undecided voters, which no one here is talking about.

There's no candidate in existence who won't be considered bad by Democrats. It's the nature of the democratic electorate, too many constituencies to try to please.

GOP doesn't have those problems since they really only have to keep white evangelicals and racists happy.

To circle back on this. Not to nitpick. A little tongue and cheek but

1.) Do you blame black people for Trump being elected?

2.) Do you feel that black people weren't part of the conversation in nominating Hillary, Biden/Kamala? If so why or why not

MTG and Tucker don't give a shyt about Gaza, Palestinians or Muslims, they just hate Jews. They have a long history proving this. Any "break" they had is rooted in the belief that they're controlling Trump, distracting him from domestic white nationalist goals. The people in those tweets are fukking idiots.

There wasn't much of a choice after Biden was forced off the ticket last time. Going forwards I don't see why she would run or think she should.

Going to be pretty difficult to loop in people who are indifferent to or support Trump's agenda. People who are openly hostile to or indifferent to the core human rights of poc, the gays, climate change, police reform, vaccines, core science, health care, and on it goes.

You water down your platform a little here and there or everywhere to appeal to these other groups and you end up with the same cynical attacks being cast now and you're back to square one.
Agreed on that.

I think the problem is Democrats are stuck in an enviroment were 40 percent support the guy and another 20 is "undecided" too stupid to vote.

I don't think you have to water down your platform. Campaigning properly is another matter. Reaching out to Middle America is another matter.

1) No. We could have backed other candidates than Biden and Kamala.

2) Older black people were. Black youth not so much. I feel that young black people need to play more of a role in the process.

Astute as always.

We at baseline will always be playing from behind the 8 ball. It just depends on certain characters to determine how far behind that will be.

It's true breh. You're giving the reasons why people voted and I'm giving the conclusions of those reasons (people voted Republican/Third Party/Didn't Vote).

Powerful words from the woman who some feel may just be the next president of these United States. While some of our Allstars have chosen to dismiss the concerns and plight of black Americans for other items, it seems Ms. Ocasio Cortez recognizes their contribution to this country. A smart move for any presidential hopeful, IMHO.

Let the rebuild continue.
