Democrats are stuck on dumb ass identity polictics which only appeal to a sliver of the voting population and repels the majority. I'm a black man from the southside of chicago, but all this sjw feminists and gay lives matter make me want to be the most cold hearted conservative.
so evangelical isn't an identity? the article is about identity politics, but you seem to think addressing women, gays and black people are the only identity politics in america.

republicans appeal to voters most concerned about identity. whether it's perceived threats to white supremacy or religion. you have to be completely obsessed with identity to call yourself an evangelical christian and vote for someone like trump who is the antithesis of "good christian values."

all politics is identity politics.

And our identity is currently NOT part of the Democratic identity agenda.

We are considered by many of them to be the prime examples of "toxic masculinity"
or of the excesses of the "oppressive hetero-patriarchy."

In their eyes, we are all Nate Parker and Bill Cosby, just waiting to pounce (while Bill Clinton
and Anthony Weiner are given a pass)
.

:heh: what? In what world did this happen? Bill Clinton was given a pass because he didn't rape anyone according to the court of law or court of public opinion. There isn't a single media outlet, left or right, that has supported anthony weiner.

Evangelical is an ideological identity rather than a physical or racial identity. That is the difference in the 'identity' debate.

Trump supporters are idiots to. Blacks should create lobbies and vote for whichever party will do our bidding. But that won't happen because we're too bust buying Jordan's and henessey at the club.

During 2016,which two choices out of the following four, received the harshest media treatment for
alleged past sexual misbehavior?

a) Bill Clinton

b) Nate Parker

c) Anthony Weiner

d) Bill Cosby

Anthony Weiner resigned in 2011. Allegations of improper texting didn't take place until October 2016 because of the email scandal.

Bill Clinton had no sexual scandal take place in 2016. Why would he receive harsh media treatment? Bill Cosby is still defending himself in court! Nate Parker was shyt on by people of his own color so why bring that up in a thread about white evangelicals who voted for Trump?

What are you talking about?

What are you talking about?

What sexual scandal was Nate Parker involved with in 2016 that was worthy of the Daily Beast,
the New York Times, the Hollywood Reporter and others conducting exhaustive investigations into during
the year?

None.

He was subject to intense white media scrutiny related to past sexual assault allegations dating back to 1999.
That's right, 1999 -- less than a year after Bill Clinton was impeached by Congress for obstruction of justice
related to a sexual harassment claim against him. Did the media rehash any of the multitude of past sexual accusations against B. Clinton during his wife's 2016 campaign, even as Trump paraded the accusers around? No.

Where was the explicit repudiation by H. Clinton and team during her campaign of Weiner's 2015 sexting a 15-year-old while having his own child on his lap? Where was the Nate Parker/Bill Cosby-like coverage for this?

So the media coverage statute of limitations on past sexual assault claims applies to Bill Clinton and Anthony Weiner, but not to Nate Parker and Bill Cosby?

These issues are complete relevant when determining where black men stand in the
so-called progressive identity politics sweepstakes -- who gets valued for media protection (white men), and who gets condemned for allegedly similar behavior (black men - young and old).

Negro stop. You're making a fool of yourself.

If you don't understand why some in the media jumped onto a "new" rape story instead of rehashing already explored Clinton sex scandals, then I don't know what to tell you. Comparing the 2016 media firestorm of a story explored in 1999, to the 2016 media firestorm of story discovered in 2016 is pretty dumb. Wouldn't it make more sense to compare the media circus in 1999 for Clinton to the media circus in 2016 for Parker?

Btw when you're able to show me the books written about Nate Parkers sex life, then you can cry about media scrutiny.
