@ the SC being broken.
Republicans only have themselves to blame for this.
i'm sorry but my 1st reaction is just
i don't believe they really wanna do it or better yet will go the lengths they would need to..
Supreme Court is done
0% chance of passing.
Blame Mitch. Obstructing a seat for an entire year just because made it a mainstream issue.
The Senate isn't going for this.
Maybe it's s negotiation tactic, though
13 in a partisan split is clearly a nonstarter.
Perhaps the goal is what I've advocated....15 judges. 5 by democrats, 5 by republicans and 5 chosen by the other 10.
It will sit for two years and see what happens with the 2022 election. If Dems gain seats, the court will expand.
If Biden is only doing 4 years he’s acting with urgency to take the hits other Dems don’t in what is priority.
I'm not sure what the point of this is other than just being a symbolic gesture. There's a 0% chance of it passing.
Republicans and conservatives are acting like this is the beginning of the civil war, so you can guess how this excited the base.
If it passed, it would be quite accelerationist. I'm actually for that because I do want this country to separate - we're too dumb to remain together.
If it doesn't pass what's the fukking point? Fire up the opposite team so we can get Trump 2.0 so they can fukk us even harder?
Quoted for truth.
As much as I'd love for the court to expand, I just don't see the point of something like this unless you have the votes. Otherwise it's only going to benefit Republicans...
Seems like terrible politics.
