All of this...wish Barbara Lee was viable but looks like the only competition was coming from the right of Pelosi. On the other hand Pelosi is gonna handcuff the party's ability to craft and pass policy if she gets her way, so there needs to be some pressure on her not to create unnecessary obstacles.

You want it to be one way. But it’s the other way. You can’t threaten her and try and make her leave unless you got the balls to show yourself. You have to have more support than Pelosi to push her out. Why would she leave just to create a void to be filled by some unknown entity? The way this works is you show yourself, show what you would do differently, and ask the Dem Caucus for support in a new direction. But it looks like they don’t have anything new to bring to the table, but just want to replace the Pelosi because Republicans don’t like her.

non of what you're saying is true at all. you can ask her to leave and try to keep that shadow pressure on her. and if it works, then you come out the shadows and put your hat in there. this aint a HBO fight. this is politics. and there is no reason to jump in there knowing good and well how popular she is and how much money she generates.

Looking at your last sentence, why would she leave? You can’t pressure me and make me fold if I know you ain’t got the better hand.
You do want it to be one way. You want Pelosi to see this letter signed by mostly centrist Dems, for her to ignore that no opponent has more yes votes than her, and just step aside. You want this to be a world where that makes sense to Pelosi. But it’s not. In the planet earth we actually live in, Pelosi basically said show me an opponent with more votes or STFU.
What is the end goal if Pelosi doesn’t step aside. Do these “never Pelosi” Dems help nominate a conservative Speaker? Or do they STFU and vote for Pelosi? They have painted themselves into a corner and now have to go back to Dem leadership hat in hand with the stench of this failed coup on them and fall back in line. Only other option is create a power sharing bipartisan group that can get 218 votes. But if they don’t have the balls to come out the shadows and challenge Pelosi, they definitely don’t have the stomach for the avalanche of backlash they would see if they went the unity government route.

If a dude leading the charge against pelosi is saying Pelosi is TOO liberal than that movement is garbage. There is no left challenges to pelosi. Only challenges right now are from more conservative Dems. So Pelosi staying is the best option right now .
