Eww
What are the options at this point?
Realistically - and off the top of my head - this will have to head to court. There's the possibility that the GOP doesn't have the votes to carry this out, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
For example, the early voting stunt has been tried before and was struck down in federal court a few years ago.
If this lands in front of the state Supreme Court, I don't have much faith in a positive outcome; the court tilts conservative and will most likely vote party line.
Purely my opinion, but another factor will be how the state Democratic Party sells this. This has the potential to fire up people like the recall election with the proper messaging and conveyance of how important this is. People are pissed, but they'll have to shape the narrative that it isn't just a bunch of crazy liberals from Madison and Milwaukee with pitchforks protesting at the Capitol. This is wonton disregard of the vote and a power grab.
Had they framed the issues in the recall correctly and run the right candidate, we would've saved a few years of Scott Walker.
The country is watching. Don't fukk it up.
