Can't lie, first time I stood on a pitchers mound I did the same thing. You're up high and have to throw down. If you're not used to doing it I can understand.

There's a big difference between throwing a baseball and throwing a pitch. Anyone can a throw a baseball but trying to pitch is totally different. Pitching requires that you throw the ball harder than you would when your just playing catch with a baseball and some times the ball goes into the dirt because your not that familiar with the footwork and grip it takes to throw an accurate pitch with good speed on it. A pitch is basically a straight line to the catcher but a throw has a lot more curve to it.
