Deni could've been perfect for the Warriors system, but Bob Myers chose a fukking James Wiseman because of so called potential and the rest is history.

Could've traded down a few spots in the draft and got Deni + other assets. Or even traded the damn pick for a proven talent.

Nah they were in a tough spot. If they woulda traded down and Wiseman became a generational big they would be getting slaughtered every single day for that

The best possible outcome for them would have been not getting that number 2 pick.

They would have been perfect down at that 8-10 range

:comeon:
I guess he felt the need to compensate "impurity" while growing in an ethnostate...

Avdija was born in Priština, SAP Kosovo, PR Serbia, FPR Yugoslavia (present-day Pristina, Kosovo). He is of ethnic Gorani-Muslim descent (from Gora in southern Kosovo)

Deni a good utility role player that's it.... Ain't no way nikkas tryin to say he a LaMelo talent dawg LOL

Health is a valid point against LaMelo but when he out there he a star. His impact and talent is one of the highest of any guard in the league. The bumass Hornets are 2-21 without LaMelo this season. That's 2012 WOAT Bobcats level garbage these nikkas are. Miles the only other consistently good player on the roster.
Lamelo sucks
Get that in your thick skull

Deni has evolved to a solid role player on a team that's 7 games under .500 - salutes to him for his work ethic and getting his 3 ball to just at league average in his 5th season :ehh:
All of which is better than LaMelo. :ehh:

He lowkey is Portland’s best player as Chauncey said

As a Wiz fan, I’m still happy with the return. Bub Carrington looks like a player and we got a 2029 1st

How did you feel as a Wiz fan intially when they traded Avdija away?
Also, why did they trade him away in the first place? It seemed to odd when that trade happened

He doesn’t fit the timeline. He will be up for his third contract when the team is good again.

Also, Will Dawkins did not draft him. If you look at the Wizards roster, if Will didn’t draft you, he’s going to trade you as soon as he gets a compelling offer. The roster turnover since June 2023 is complete. Only Corey Kispert and Anthony Gill remain.

I was actually stunned they got two first rounders for him. One of which turned into Bub Carrington. I think Bub is going to be a solid player. He’s so young.

So I was fine with the trade.

Explain the timeline reason

If a player is very talented and will one day probably be an All star, does it really matter if said player "doesn't fit the timeline"?

Having a team where everyone is about the same age of development can sometimes be a bad thing

All Star? :whoa:

Deni is still young at 24. But the new front office is starting all over. They have 4 rookies and multiple second year guys.

Deni is better off in a situation where he’s closer to winning.

He has 3 years left on his deal. In 2027-28, the Wizards should be a playoff team. And he will be looking for a lucrative third deal.

The Wizards have a bunch of kids who are younger than 21 and are looking to maintain a cap flexibility for rebuilding.
