You can’t be surprised though. Unlike here in the U.S., where you have businesses and even many individuals attracting illegal immigrants - the immigrants/refugees going to Europe are basically showing up at the door unannounced. These laws are intended to be so fukked up that it would deter additional refugees.

I don't think that will work, but I do wonder why Denmark accepts these migrants at all. With laws like this, I can only assume they don't want them. Is this an EU mandate? If so, does the EU have anything to say about this discrimination?

denmark through the twentieth century was a big advocate for refugees and asylum seekers. i think the issue is in the last ten years there have been a lot of asylum seekers from syria because denmark has been more willing to settle them than other countries like hungary. but the danish welfare system cant really handle it and so politicians are blaming it on cultural shyt like islam. in reality most of the people in these "ghettoes" were placed there by the government.

european and western countries typically have more economic opportunities available because of their colonial histories. of course leaving developing countries to go there just repeats the process but its hard to tell someone that whos seeking a better life and in a desperate situation in their home

If the law requires a country to harm itself by taking on more migrants than they can handle, then the law is wrong. And should be changed. Maybe even ignored.
