Most things of value in this country were originally either built to the detriment of black people or on the backs of black people. That’s not the best gauge to use.

I understand the sentiment because cops do provide a necessary service. But I think when people make comments like this they should ALWAYS mention the shortcomings that do exist, regardless of the value. Otherwise if feels like they think these crooked/racist cops are a “necessary evil.” Nah, hold them feet to the fire.
