Hate to break it to you but America has been in a long term state of decline for our entire lives. In the 70’s and earlier, you needed to be able to sing or play and instrument to even be a musician. People cared about their appearance more. Even gang bangers wore dress shoes, slacks, button ups, trench coats and topcoats in the 60’s.

As soon as these corporations started outsourcing factories and importing more guns and dope into the inner cities in the 80’s, it was the beginning of the end. Hip Hop is great, but Hip Hop is literally born out of the extreme poverty created by outsourcing, white flight, deindustrialization etc.

The decline of everything accelerated after the year 2000 and has hit high gear after 2020. The movie Idiocracy is becoming more true with every passing day. This ain’t no “maga” speech because America has never been that great for us. It’s just appalling to see society slowly decline as you get older. I understand why old heads say it was better back in their day as I get older, myself.

The soul has been sucked out of everything. Nothing seems well made anymore. Everything seems cheaply made and mass produced for mass consumption. Even the coveted shyt we called “limited edition” is manufactured in the same cheap soulless fashion. Everybody tries to dress the same in the same boring clothes (logo hoodies, panda dunks, Yeezy’s, Crocs, sweatpants), everybody wants to listen to the same music, talk the same, have the same opinions on everything. And this is regardless of race, socioeconomic background, education level, upbringing etc. There aren’t even many distinct subcultures anymore. Everybody is a social media programmed robot.

People don’t even have the attention spans anymore to enjoy a 4 minute long song let alone a whole album of great music and people certainly don’t have the patience to watch a movie with an original theme for a whole 2 hours. That’s why TikTok is winning because people have the attention span of a base rock high. :snoop:

This is the emo / panties-in-a-knot shıt I'm talking about running rampant here these days.

I don't even know of your existence on this site and you throw a personal attack my way for what reason? To feel better about your own shıt-stain of a life?

Get out of your emotions fakkit and learn how to speak like a man and not defer to name calling like some hormonal teenage bıtch, 'Twan.

Too many moody fakkits around here. Way too many :francis:

im smarter... im better..

Brooklyn, New York
noticed this when everybody was making Part II's to their albums
some of which werent even classics

Marshall Mathers LP 2
Hunger for More Part 2
Food and Liquor 2
Documentary 2
Only Built for Cuban Linx 2
Port of Miami 2

This album bothered me for a long time until I realized that it was supposed to be about reflection and getting older. It was a snapshot of where Eminem was in 2012-2013, and how he was dealing with certain things in his life like making peace with his mother, the possibility that he might not have much time left as a rapper, his feelings towards his father. The themes are similar to the first MMLP because it's once again Eminem reacting to the world around him and responding to what's out there.

None of this makes MMLP2 a good album, and I still wish he called it something else because he played into the idea of it being a sequel when it really wasn't, but I feel like this is important to bring up.

I agree with you OP but we gotta consider something too

It’s also harder for young people to become musicians/filmmakers in the current industries landscapes. I mean it’s easier to become one but actually being good/turning it into a profitable career:yeshrug:

The mid budget movies are pretty all gone now which is how a lot of younger indie directors/writers got on.

And labels aren’t putting money behind no name young kids anymore and helping them develop.

Pretty much 80% or more of movies are remakes, adaptations or sequels.

Most decent musicians are either in their late 20s or 30s or even older.

Young people would rather get rich off mid tik toks and reaction content on YouTube than becoming film makers.

Most news and non fiction work is designed to make you so depressed and angry you feel like killing yourself or other people.

Our politicians should be in nursing homes but they're spouting conspiracy theories and looting the public coffers.

Most stand up comedy is trash and there hasn't been a blockbuster comedy in years. SNL hasn't been funny since probably 2005.

Many of our music and entertainment icons looking funny in the light or are saying the most stupid shyt when micd up. The same kanye that spoke out against white supremacy has been turned out by a white family and reduced to a babbling c00n.

Everything is over priced.

Damn I feel like I need a blunt.
Start fukking with international artists and creators. Better yet, make your own art and put it out.

There are tons of independent movies with original plots.
If you want an original blockbuster those never happen unless an established director makes it.

I can't speak to the other shyt but to say you are just getting old and I am sure your parents felt the same way.

You need a break from the Internet and entertainment for awhile
Nah, it’s even more depressing going outside if you live in any major metro area. Everybody is rude as fukk nowadays, has no manners, Gen Z thinks everybody is a joke and thinks they can passively aggressively talk about you right in front of your face with their friends. Everybody has become a Karen addicted to convenience and has main character syndrome treating everyone else like an “NPC”. Life ain’t a fukking videogame, brodie. People drive like psychotic maniacs in need of a restroom, will try to run you off the road, tailgate you, act like the speed limit is 30 mph+ higher than the posted speed limit, weave in and out of bumper to bumper traffic only to see your ass at the stoplight.

People are vapid and over materialistic, all races and demographics. Any time you step out of the house it’s like a cringe ass flex-a-thon outside, a competition to who has the most expensive outfit, who has the cleanest, newest, fastest and loudest car. Everybody acting like they are rich and have “haters”.

Like nah, you have haters because you are acting like an a$$hole, not because you have some shyt you probably can’t afford you bought on credit that everybody wants this month that will be played out next year. People used to be much more humble. People used to be cooler and act more natural.
