Derek Carr named Raiders starting QB

It's all going to come down to the Raiders offensive line this week (especially in the interior), and the majority of the season.

If the O-Line gets blasted through, it'll be up to Carr to read defenses at the line, make quick reads and get the ball out of there. That's a lot to ask of a rookie especially against a Rex Ryan defense, who you know will have tricky schemes. Dude has a real quick release so that's at least one part of it. It's rare a rookie comes out of the box and is able to dissect a 3-4 defense though, shyt Peyton Manning still has trouble with it. But if his line can hold up, give his weapons some time to get open, Oakland has a chance. If not, they'll have to pound the ball, and that's what the Jets want you to do.

I wish we would've let the rookie sit and let Mcgoin take his lumps, we know the kid is the future but why rush it especially considering the division will be up for grabs in the next 2 years. I hope it all works out, I just don't have any confidence in D. Allen or Reggie in running the team and putting Carr in the best position to succeed as a rook.

I'm not into betting and forecasting. I only speak on football match ups....like Antonio Allen and Darrin Walls playing corner and Calvin Pryor playing center field. The stuff you're not interested in talking about while holding onto mantras like "the jets secondary" and name calling.

I think Walls holds Streeter in check and Pryor does his thing in middle.

It's like you trying to talk about Bruce butler or Andre Holmes anybody can say I think these match ups will be won by my guy, but the truth is they are a bunch of unknown havent proven anything bunch, but when you see the NASCAR formation with mack and tuck lined up next to each other on the line on 3rd down, you are going to be like damn. Also, with sio back healthy the Lbs will swarm and the d-line will cause havoc, our corners is where our weakness lies. In all actuality our teams have a lot of the same strengths and weaknesses, There isnt much film our our new D, Geno will struggle with the blitz and pressure just as much as carr, and even tho he is a rookie I think Carr>Geno, and I would take our backfield vs yours also with D-mac MDJ and Reece there are a lot of explosive plays to be had. We come away with the win tho even tho its an away game and an east coast trip.

LOl, nobody is tryin to run on your D, quick passes and screen to slow the rush, and then drop it over the top of your weak corners, slants by D moore and seem routes to Rivera, and maybe a couple long runs from D-mac if he is back to his old self or MDJ...if the coaches are smart they wont stick to the run so much but yet they must not abandon it or the rush will overpower the rookie...dont forget we dropped 234 rushing yards on your D a few years back even tho they were a top Run D that year too, so dont act like Rex's D can't be run on. Also it's a new year so we'll see if they can sustain the success on run D as they did last year
