Thibs playoff failures have me skeptical. But I'm skeptical of everybody unless Carlisle is available. JVG was my guy, I'd love to see him return but doubt it happens. Walton is really intriguing, I'd like to see his playbook for sure, but it'd be another fairly inexperienced coach and I'd like someone who will definitely bring more experience and demand respect. Rambis didn't prove any better than Fish in earlier stints, but he should at least no how to construct a damned rotation and I don't think he can afford to let his ego keep Phil from being as hands on as he wants (instead of running Rosen out there to indirectly say what needs fixing)..
Skeptical of what exactly?

The Bulls' postseason failures have been down to Thibs covering up for the lack of talent - getting by on effort and game-planning throughout the regular season. Like Stevens in Boston, he'll have those Celtics squads constantly fighting above their weight with good RS records but they won't do shyt in the playoffs because they don't have the right personnel.

Nah it's not common knowledge. It's regurgitated bullshyt and dudes falling for this new craze of reducing players minutes, as if every coach has the luxury of doing so. Over the first 1-2 seasons Thibs would work the players hard on off days, but that didn't last long. I mean most of the Bulls' state of overachieving has been down to how well he drills his players. The whole thing of overplaying his players is overblown, and mostly down to the fact GarPax haven't given him a proper second unit since Bench Mob. I mean prior to Butler's last game (he only played 18 mins after being injured):

38.2 minutes per game under Hoiberg
38.7 minutes per game under Thibs

Eh, gotta play the bench to develop them. Look at the Spurs its not like they have a bunch of obvious talent on that bench.

Its not overblown when you play your best player 50 minutes in a pre-season game. That's insane.

Walton Blatt Thibs Jackson are their top choices I bet. The Knicks need to get this hire right. The talent is there especially if they add a point guard and another piece or two this offseason for them to at least be a top 4 seed in the East. But Melo isn't getting any younger and Kristaps isn't there yet so they need to make an informed hire and not just hire the biggest name out there.

Have you seen how bad the Bulls role players have turned out to be, and dudes wonder why Thibs never played them more. Actually the Spurs have had a bunch of "obvious talent on that bench", and you can't use them as the medium because they're an anomaly due to their scouting prowess, coaching development (not just Pop) and perhaps the best GM in all pro-sports for the last decade. Thibs felt the need to play a select FEW (I must stress FEW) a few more minutes each game to keep them in the best possible position of winning games, because the backups weren't capable of handling the load/keeping the intensity on defense.

Sure, he didn't need to play him 48 minutes, but from what I can recall the intensity wasn't that high and although it's not an excuse, he was basically the only wing player available for the game. I mean shyt if you're gonna criticize him overplaying Butler, you've got to do the same for Hoiberg - Butler's basically playing identical minutes as he was under Thibs.

It has always seemed like Phil is just using Jeanie for leverage. Do they even talk?
I"We were hungry for that one. We saw that ball and it was like hyenas on an antelope.

I thought they was still "kickin" it. Honestly I dont know, but the boy boy Barnes gets some vindication I gueess.

The pressure of doing anything in basketball in NY :snoop:
He was a rookie coach in NY. He never had a chance with the pressure that comes with coaching in NY. Phil knew this too but wanted one of his proteges coaching just like Riley. At least he fires his proteges. Riley wont fire Spoelstra that easily :mjcry:

Matt Barnes has the green light, now. Rematch coming soon . It's like when Christopher got his revenge when the cop that killed his dad retired:mjlol:
