Even as a rebuilding team the Knicks were underachieving. I watched most of the Knicks v Pistons game and the Knicks could have won that but they go huge stretches without scoring a basket like 4-5 minutes, that's on the coach. Maybe the Knicks front office thought he wasn't developing the offense the way it should have been. Losing is tolerable if there are signs of progress.
