Jeter's front office run was.... something Lol. Turned the Marlins into a NYY AAA affiliate.
From what I got from Jeter's tweet, it seems that the rest of the ownership group really doesn't want to prioritize putting a winning product on the field.
Hopefully, The Hurricanes need their stadium backMarlins bout to make that move to Las Vegas
They were in the playoffs in 2020 and won the wild card play-in gameJeter got a rude awakening that most pro teams operate like a Walgreen’s and just do the work with NO intention on getting better.
Dude wasn’t used to that after being under the Steinbrenners for 20 damn years and constantly feeling the pressure to win. And after all that time it became part of him. It’s weird when the shoe is on the other foot with one of the other 20-22 teams that don’t have a legit shot at contending. Then you see why it’s less about the players and more about the ownership and culture.
Previous Marlins regime had no issue blowing up the team after winning and this new crew running the club couldn’t even get to a point where they even sniffed a wild card game.

Maybe Jeter jumped on for personal tax purposes or some shyt like that.kudos to them for doing something during that shortened covid season. But this Jeter thing just didn’t work out and it was a head scratcher when he jumped on board immediately after his playing days were over.

Yanks will prob bring him on as part of ownership.. either that or he got something else lined up, maybe ARod told him come on board as part owner of the TWolvesDerek Jeter is on good terms with most of baseball's ownership, he knows that this lockout is serious, so he cashed out while the value is high and went home.
