It's partly his eye but I also think there's this misconception that having better teammates means not having to play like a star player (despite being paid as one)... in reality, better teammates should supplement star play... should make it easier... but it's not supposed to outright replace it (with the star player becoming a shell) or else you're right back on that same threadmill. '15 Gasol and '15 Butler would've been perfect for the 2011 Bulls. '11 Rose would still have mvp type impact, maybe less shot attempts and minutes but shiiit, flip side he might've score even more points actually, ala Steph Curry this year, with how honest the defense would have to play him. Regardless of the actual #s, the aggression would still be there, which u don't always see now.
With '15 Rose, my disappointment is that his jump shot hasn't gotten any better (again maybe his eye) after that gassed up summer, and so he doesn't have an 'easy' way to score that doesn't involve him going hard to the hoop, which he clearly doesn't want to do night in and night out.
