Time and time again I see players' ruin their careers by trying to play through injuries or coming back too soon. These athletes need to realize that the organizations don't care about their well-beings, they only care about the money the athletes can make for them. But the athletes get fed this narrative that they have to play through injuries "for their team!" and all I keep seeing are athletes having shortened careers (when pro sports careers are already generally pretty short) resulting in lost earnings, only to be forgotten about except when sports journalists and fans occasionally talk about "what could have been."

Coming back too soon? What did u want Rose to sit out like 5 years? Westbrook sat out half the time and came back better than ever. Dude is just brittle, some athletes are like that nothing you can do about it.

Rose came back too early from his very first injury, the ankle sprain, which led to the compensation injuries like when he blew out his knee a month later playing meaningless minutes in the 4th quarter.

Y'all forgot that one it seems.

He just needs to get his consistency back. The last game I saw him play he was tearing up the Thunder down the stretch. He just needs to stay healthy and he'll be a good player. But he won't reach his potential at this point.
Anyone can hit open shots, it's over for him :rip:

NBA contracts are fully guaranteed tho. I think he got caught up in those adidas ads plus media pressure. But at the end of the day he sat out a long time. I think Rose routinely shuts it down now to avoid getting hurt but he's hurting his game more than anything else. He still young but he wasting his prime years not to mention the opportunity for another max deal.

Well, I think for Rose it's all mental at this point. He can't get up as high as he used to but he hasn't really lost any quickness. He just ain't aggressive anymore and you can tell that he's trying to protect his knees when he plays. And I think you're right, he is hurting his game by trying to protect himself from getting hurt--anybody who has played sports before knows that regaining consistent form after injury means you have to play consistently since taking frequent or extended breaks is just pushing the reset button on shedding the rust.

he's been :trash: outside of like two games I can think of. that was against the pacers where he got injured in the 4th and against OKC on national tv. the only thing I can hope is that he's not able to see with how bad he's playing.

come back to soon???? :russ:

that dude always takes EXTRA time to come back from injury. he recently barely turned an ankle and was out for over a week.

this is the same cat who took 18 months to come back from an ACL and 6 months to come back from a meniscus tear two years ago that took cats like kemba walker and eric bledsoe 6 weeks.
