Umm yes he is a slouch defensively breh.....He not only doesnt try very hard but hes also kind of dumb with how he tries to defend the perimeter on a team with no interior strength...

If you know the interior help isnt going to be there you probably shouldnt be hedging ur man to a straight line drive with no help on the way and he does that ALOT if you watch him....Thats all him not knowing when to guard ur man straight up...

obviously not the most intelligent defender he doesn't process all of that
he's long and athletic and poses a problem for undersized opponents. Not great, but could be worse

Hes the worst guard defender on the team and he constantly gives up baseline drives with his over hedging into the middle...Were so much better defensively when Ross or Powell are at the 2 with Lowry/Joseph and Carroll...

Sometimes he makes dumb decisions but he hustles even when he gets burned he moves his feet,arms and tries...

How many times you see Demar give up a first step blow by and just stop and admire....at least DMC will stay on his mans hip and see the play out.

JV is pretty idiotic on defence and slow as fukk
slow on the first step, well most players of Demars skill set and position are. it is what it is. decent defender in crunch time and overall wouldn't really be a liability if raptors had good defensive coordination
