Without KD, Westbrook still put up 32/11/11 for 3 months.
There's no comparison statistically at this point although Rose was probably hurt by the Bulls' slow pace for most of his career.

We'll never know what a "prime" Rose really was capable of but I'd still give Russ the edge.

Can't believe how long its been since April 2011 :mjcry:

Derrick would have taken his game to special heights. I love Russell, but Rose had such amazing self awareness as a scorer and especially as a clutch scorer. He had a blend of Westbrooks power game, Kyries soft touch finishing & the mid air contortion abilities of MJ. Watching him during his second year every night the MVP next season wasn't even surprising, he was showing best player in the league abilities

:wow:

Rose :francis:

Pre-injury Rose was the most explosive, athletic PG ive ever seen in my entire life... dude was like a mutant. Even Westbrook doesn't quite match up.

Russ is impressive, but Rose would literally have you looking at your screen in disbelief for half the game.

And Lebron absolutely shut down rose in the playoffs that year he "won MVP" over Lebron

Westbrook is a God, you'll see now that he doesn't have to share the ball with traitor how dominant and ridiculous he truly is

:why: Lebron is one of the best defenders of all time... and was guarding a 22 year old. What kind of example is this?

Did we not just watch Westbrook get frustrated by Steph of all people and get his pocket picked ad nauseum in the WCF? He wasnt looking too godly then was he?

Like I said, im not trying to shyt on Russ, he is a certified baller. But in terms of impressiveness, Rose was downright baffling with what he was able to do on the court.

easily derrick rose.

but I'm not surprised by the poll results. this board is too caught up in numbers in a real turnoff-ish way. to the point where I didn't even bother reading the thread. no offense to OP.

Rose played the game a little... slower than Westbrook. While Westbrook is obviously the better player by virtue of Rose taking injury Ls... I feel like Rose played like a pure point when need be. He got players like Noah and Taj Gibson on the board when they had zero offensive talent. Westbrook goes on go mode and its either you live or die by his decisions. Rose would have been a Curry level player if he didn't get injured. He had a great mix of extreme athletic ability and patience.

Rose's best season wasn't even comparable to a 20 year old, sophomore year Bron :mjlol:

nikkas talking best player in the league moves :mjlol:

MVP Rose was certified legit and one of the most exciting players I've seen but people really overstating his impact. Dude had an AI cast and set up. A great coach, a bunch of amazing defensive players, and he was able to dominate the ball.

The dude dropped 27 on 39% in his only serious playoff run and he played two average teams (37 win Pacers and the Joe Johnson/Josh Smith Hawks) before getting Molly-whopped by the weakest version of the Big 3 team and straight embarrassed by Lebron. He led his team to the same playoff record against the Heat as Nate fukkin' Robinson:pachaha:

They had the best defense in the league in 10-11 and a top 2 defense in 11 even without Rose for a good chunk but that year was a lockout do it's hard to say exactly how big a change it was). :sas2:

But Rose was definitely legit and he was a lot more agile than Russ even if he wasn't quite as straight line explosive. I'm still rooting for him to be great even if he can't be elite anymore :obama:

To answer the question, rose was better than Westbrook back when they were healthy.

But Westbrook elevated his game while rose was taken seasons off. Rose wasnr doing anything what Westbrook was out there doing in that 2015 season.

Westbrook is the answer
