Westbrook's first step is not amazing - if it were, you would see him just blow by his initial defender more often, the way MJ or AI used to do.

Westbrook isn't a great defender. He's big on gambling, his footwork is pretty sloppy, and he gets lost playing off-ball because he's a ball hawk.

Russ is fast, strong, and has a high motor plus he's intense. He's still just an okay defender though.
