i believe its from obama getting elected. and hiphop becoming pop culture making them feel displaced, and like you said , social media giving a voice to people no one should even be listening to.

- Obama becoming POTUS
- Social Media
- Hip Hop and elements of hip hop being in popular in why areas
- Blacks protesting beginning with the Trayvon Martin case

But also why people are scared because this decade is really their last stand, they see the numbers dwindling, more interracial and same sex couples popping up and latins overtaking them in two decades. They are petrified because they have always been the dominant race for centuries and now they're losing it.
