Eh...they're more economically liberal than reaganites. They're just not hardline socialists.

They are marginally more liberal in that they advocate for minimum wage hikes , pay lip service to organized labor, and believe in slightly more progressive taxation. That's pretty much it.

To say that the Democrats are "economically liberal" but not "hardline socialists" is to miss a much richer spectrum of leftist politics in between.

1. Economics...not necessarily true. They want to reign in the welfare state, but do believe in many aspects of basic economic stability for the masses

2. Big business employs a majority of the country...gotta make some concessions or you're gonna have more companies setting up in places like Ireland.

3. No push for change for the bottom? Thats....jsut not true.

4. Whats wrong with their foreign policy? I mean at some point we see what happens (look around) when theres a vacuum in place. One day, you're apologizing for past errors and the next thing you can't secure markets for your goods.

Number 2 is not true

:dahell:

This post is so stupid it made my head hurt.

Sam Roberts's argument with Chomsky had nothing to do with anarchism.
Yes. They do.

Chomsky is a critic. Dude never has ANY solutions.

EVER.

So all Chomsky has to do is point out problems with society and never have any burden to create solutions or discuss policy.

Do you even know what debate I'm talking about? No Googling.

I'm aware of the Sam harris and Chomsky debate.

Chomsky's entire point was to be a cynical critic in that debate.

Sam harris was discussing policy and procedure.

Chomsky appeals to people who never have the burden of being responsible for decisions.
