ACL's ain't all that anymore. He will be back next year and have a long productive career.
This is his 2nd ACL tear. Don't know if its the same knee but he tore his ACL as a freshmen in college.
I hate to say this but I first guessed this before the draft. Swag's 2017 NFL Draft Review (Prospect Rankings on page 1; Best Picks and Draft Classes on page 2)
I just hate being right about such awful things.

Not saying niccas didn’t get hurt in the 80s and 90s but it feels like the probability of injuries dramatically increased

Same way it happened to Teddy. Probably planted wrong. That combined with the fact hes previously torn it makes him more susceptible to a repeat injury.
