...am I in the twilight zone? What in the fukk does Blizzard and Activision being under the same umbrella (activision does not own Blizzard, they merged as 1 company called Activision-Blizzard) have ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE TOPIC BEING DISCUSSED ???

what is so hard for people on this sub forum to stay on topic :wtf:

the -> TOPIC <- is this Blizzard/Activision entry into competing against Steam by allowing non blizzard games on its Battle.net (Origin/Steam) platform, since this is the 1st non blizzard game on Battle.net (no exaggeration @42 Monks )

I feel like it's Activision using its own resources to expand one of their cash cows onto the PC platform. A middle finger to prolly feels good along the way.

Again, what the hell does that have to do with what we are discussing? Activision is the parent company to dozens of companies and publishes hundreds of games. This is the first non blizzard game on Battle.net. Please stay on topic.

Its not an exaggeration, in 30 years, Blizzard has never offered its gaming platform (battle.net) to any other game. This is not hyperbole.

Its easier if you just say you didnt know what you were talking about and keep it moving :manny:
It's because Activision Blizzard split from Vivendi in 2013 and now they are ONE... Now that Vivendi is out of their pockets they are trying to make as much money in house as possible..

What's wrong with battle net?
Not so much something wrong with it as I felt inconvenience downloading yet another fukking game manager. More usernames and shyt to keep up with. I wish there was a manager for these that came up and was able to keep track of everything in one convenient spot where you could also communicate with others.

breh you making a big deal about "the first non-blizzard created game on battle.net" without realizing that its the same group of companies. its not some stretch that a title as big as destiny branch into the pc market using a sister company's platform as a launcher

you can keep saying 30 years over and over but this is not the berlin wall coming down :skip: infrastructure is available, an opportunity for a proven substantial product is available (no, not CoD because they're suffering from fatigue hard and the release tempo doesn't match anything B.net has EVER done), and putting two of the biggest FPS's on the same avenue only serves to prop up B.net more

its nothing more than a sensible business decision from activision. why the theatrics

But plenty of Activision games are still on steam(Vivendi) :jbhmm: I think they are seeing how Destiny does 1st, then they'll move the games over since you can buy Destiny 2 with Blizzard currency (steam $).

Only thing is, the appeal of the battle.net app unlike Origin, is it runs fairly smoothly. I actually prefer it over Steam and Origin. It being cluttered with 100s of games :scust:

they probably figure Destiny is a strong enough title to push their own service. obviously they'd like to avoid giving Valve a cut, but having a game on Steam gives it a lot of exposure

Because it explains the move regardless how unexpected it was. Now if D2 was an Origin or GoG exclusive that'd really be something worth writing about

Is Blizzard/Activision making the initial push to compete with Steam :patrice: Destiny 2 an AAA title, will be the first non Blizzard created game, on the Battle.net network (Basically the interface PC users use to log into World oF warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft and Overwatch, etc. )

For console users, this would be like logging into XBOX LIVE to play Uncharted 4 on your Playstation :patrice:

I cant think of a weirder pairing :patrice: Is bungie under Activision umbrella ? Thought it was its own company, which would make this move even weirder.

To put things in perspective, this would be like Call of Duty PC users logging on through the same app that you would log onto Diablo 3 etc with.. (and share same friend list, etc.)
27 pages of contract isn't that enjoyable but contains some cool information.

The main thing being that Destiny is the first of four games in the series, and each game will have an expansion pack codenamed comet. It also mentions that 10% of the bungie team are able to produce their upcoming game 'marathon' after $ 375,000,000 of income is made through the destiny business and that once they get to 750,000,000 then 25% can work on it. ’ if 33 per cent of the Bungie staff leave the studio within any twelve month period prior to the master copy of Comet number four (due 2020) then Activision has, in certain circumstances, the authority to assume control of the game’s IP, as well as a licence to use the proprietary ‘Destiny Game Engine’. VALVE, EPIC, GEARBOX studios are banned from developing any Destiny or Comet conversions or adaptations but Activision can develop their own conversions or adaptations with their in-house studios if bungie agrees.

This really is odd :ohhh:.
Blizzard are known weirdos that literally only give a fukk about blizzard and it's ips.

They were really the first that said eh fukk gamespy well just make our own shyt and crush your existence:yeshrug:.

This is certainly the beginning of blizzard being up to something much bigger.

While there is more than enough space in the digital distribution market for multiple platforms, Blizzard not really the type to sit back as #2 or an alternative. That's why I find adding another studios game curious:patrice:
