We understand that. Any other company aside from Blizzard and I wouldn't be the least bit curious.

They are pretty secretive and cagey with their day to day business and always came off as giving no fukks about any other "team" but Blizzard.

Just very unlike them to throw Destiny 2 on battlenet and that be the end of it. Nothing wrong with that but interest is piqued because it "could" be the beginning of them trying to push boundaries again.:ehh:

If you don't feel that response is acceptable then by all means pull up:pacspit:

Blizzard really has no choice but to do this.. The company is traded as Activision Blizzard.. They purchased MLG... They are going in a new direction. shyt ain't that hard to figure out

what do you mean they have no choice? They merged, but Blizzard still acts as its own company. Activision does not OWN blizzard, its a partnership. You think Activision has any control over any of Blizzard IPs ? :wtf: :laff: Yeah I can see the Call of Duty director looking over the shoulders of the developers for World of Warcraft "needs more jet jumps" :laff: They dont even operate out of the same building. Blizzard headquarters are in Irvine, CA, while Activision is based out of Santa Monica, Ca

They purchased MLG years ago and seems to be a bad purchase. They purchased it years ago because MLG was setting up a streaming service to compete with Twitch but didnt have the dedicated viewer base, it had little to do with the actual MLG tournaments, as Blizzard still runs its own tournaments for its own games not on the MLG platform. Not really sure what this has to do with anything they bought it for like $100 million? A blip on the radar of investments for them


Blizzard's share of Activision-Blizzard is actually 52% , they are majority owners of this merger

better put some respect on Blizzard name here :ufdup: they the big dogs in this company not activision :ufdup:

nikka i was playing brood war custom games and fukking up the dialup like everyone else

blizzard's titles, release tempo, and traction warrant something like a b.net existing. this is long before, steam, origin, etc. it was their own platform for their own games. market landscape has obviously evolved. other games simply cannot claim the sort of notoriety that blizzard games do generally.

what other crossgen fps that lit up sales for three years off one main release stands to make the most out of entering the pc market? especially another that's under the activision umbrella?

you being dramatic just to be dramatic. nintendo entering the smartphone gaming arena was more 'shocking' then this

As arguably true as that may be you'll get an instant sales boost just by the sheer number of people on it.

Imagine how good the Titanfall series would sell on it.

Destiny doesn't need the 'sales boost' from Steam.

If you're a middling game, indie, or series with a moderately high release tempo then sure. But saying Destiny needs the sales boost is right there with saying that GTA needed Steam to be successful in the PC market.

If Rockstar had a B.net they could walk down the hallway and use then they'd never bother with Steam. But TakeTwo has been happy to work with Valve by giving them some of their biggest sellers (2k series, Borderlands, Civilization, Mafia, etc) so its been beneficial to both in a way. Activision doing this lets them shake their own hand so to speak.
