Lazy sampling. Like Crush of You gets a pass, because no one sampled that song b4. but when you do a lazy sample of a sample, just grab another beat.

Breh, I was about to throw Biggie's Hypnotize in the bushes, but he floated on that. Foxy wasn't built for this track, her verses are forgettable, and that whole track is just disrespectful to the OG, one of my personal GOAT's, IMO.
Funny that you mentioned Hypnotize because the first time I heard it I was like "I heard this before :patrice:." I got into arguments with dudes because I swore that was a sample. Of course there's no credit in the liner notes so I couldn't prove it but I knew I heard it somewhere. Then we were on our way to the cemetery to bury my grandfather and Rise by Herb Albert came on and that break came on and I was like "I knew it!" My pops had that record and would play it. It was an instrumental so I didn't know what the song was called.

Trash.

Stupid ass new school hi hats are annoying. Lazy approach to make it sound “different.”

Either rap over the OG or leave it alone.

The 80's has SOOOOOO much heat, though, and was barely touched!!!!

Damn shame sample clearance is a MAJOR setback.
Man, you ain’t tell one lie. That era was a perfect blend of funk, post-disco and synth.

Diddy and Mase sampled the hell out of that era in the late 90s. I think Nile Rodgers said if Diddy ever needed a hit, he would just sample one of his produced/written songs. :mjlol:

love it because it shows exactly how trash they are in direct comparison on the same beat as the original
