DETROIT WILL BE NORMAL. I DON'T THINK IT'LL EVER BE THE DETROIT IT USED TO BE BUT IT WILL BE A NORMAL FUNCTIONING CITY AT SOME POINT.

That's all we can ask for at this point. Pittsburgh is not the same but it is coming back.

This is not about rebuilding Detroit... its about nullifying existing union contracts and replacing them with private sector ones.

If it was about rebuilding Detroit, why nullify the entire democratically elected city council and mayors office? The governor will attempt to privatize everything in Detroit and turn it into pay for service, and that will further bankrupt the city. Think private police/fire/schools. The outcome will be even more income disparity and the city becoming even more divided and segregated as the wealthier parts of the city gate them selves against the rest of the city, see Latin America.

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'RE FROM DETROIT OR NOT BUT BEING BROKE DOESN'T STOP THINGS FROM HAPPENING IN DETROIT. PEOPLE WILL BARTER FOR WHAT THEY WANT/NEED. IF CITY SERVICES GET PRIVATIZED IT WILL NULLIFY SOME TAXES. ONE OF THE REASONS DETROITERS PAY A CITY TAX IS TO COVER THOSE SERVICES. PRIVATIZING DETROIT'S SERVICES HAS BEEN ON THE REPUBLICAN AGENDA FOR DECADES. ALL THE SURROUNDING AREAS HAVE DONE IT ALREADY. IT'S NOT REALLY THAT BAD.
