Eastside of that Motor
idk how you all could be against this move...do you enjoy seeing average to bad pistons basketball? Aren't you tired of the terry mills like TEAL jersey era? Rudy gay at least would make them more fun to watch...

if they're not gonna win the title at least support a move that makes them entertaining or gets them closer to the playoffs

Man that's what I've been saying, how we gonna be a sub .500 team and be boring :shaq2:

At least when others teams like the Clippers were losing 70 games a year those boys always went out there and did the fool :myman:

win-win situation for me coming from Tdot :manny:

Give us a guard Detroit ACTUALLY can work with instead of bumass Brandon Knight and work around Drummond and Greg Munroe (I slept on him).

But at the same time Detroit should tank as well, keep their picks, and get Harrison twins or Jabari Parker.

I hope Toronto can get rid of Rudy Gay though, Calengelo is a fukkin moron for that trade.

Two trash seasons

2 trash seasons? He's still only 21 and averaged 12.8 ppg his rookie year and 13.3 ppg his second year with limited talent around him. Pistons got a PG for the future and wanna get rid of him for Jose Calderon :bryan:

Jose Calderon is NOT a better player than Brandon Knight dont even start with that :rudy:

Nothing. Rudy Gay would take away from the players that matter, which is worse than doing nothing. Stuckey and CV could still be expirings we can get a pick for that's being lost to Charlotte.

You wanna kick the can down the road...we are looking at a current good playmayaker and you wanna be ass for yet another year, hope for a trade that will lead to a pick that we have no idea how high it will be, to draft a project or a player and hope he pans out AS GOOD as rudy gay. Let alone better.

:utepwtf:No breh

Thats nonsense...i cant roll the dice on a bad year to pray for a trade that will lead to a lottery to hope on another player...who could be stuckey 2.0 anyway

In the NBA, you're either competing for a championship or you're rebuilding. Which direction are the Pistons going? The only way to obtain a superstar (or a star) for us is draft night. Get picks and remain cap flexible. There's no other way, Rudy Gay didn't improve the Raptors, gotten worse the last 3 seasons, and makes a superstars salary. What's the point?

Jose Calderon is the best jump shooter in the NBA and among the best facilitators there is. What the hell does Brandon Knight bring? Tell me basketball attributes, not excuses (youth)

I simply disagree there. What were the pistons doing from 2001-2004? getting better adding pieces getting closer until they won it. Thats with an older core and the pistons have youth with upside. This whole #1 or #0 mentality doesnt ring true to me. You can have a young core, add a vet, draft smart, and get better.

In 2001-2004 the Pistons built around young vets and remained cap flexible eventually parlaying it into Rasheed Wallace who was a top 5 big at the time and won the title. Dumars tried it again many times since, signing young vets to the cheap and waiting for them to flourish in Detroit. Remember Kwame Brown? Remember dumping Arron Afflalo and Amir Johnson to get Chris Wilcox? Flip Murray? Jarvis Hayes?
The NBA has changed. Either you can build it the Oklahoma City way around your lottery picks, the Boston way in which they stockpiled so much youth and picks they got KG and Allen, or the Lakers/Heat way ($). Which way works for the Pistons? Obviously the OKC or Boston way. Rudy Gay helps with neither. We should take Biedrins expiring contract from GSW and get that 2014 first. I believe we can send the GSW 1st to Charlotte next June, keep our pick and get someone good in the much improved draft. Im not saying tank this season too, but I hated this years draft. Id hate it even more if KCP and Tony Mitchell are sitting the fukking bench. Either they can play or they cant, so I want to see the youth out there so they can successfully keep building.

I hear you, but you are saying that. Do they just continue playing average to bad until they finally draft a lebron? Who is detroits best draft picks in post bad boys history? Grant hill....and...tayshaun price...? You say nobody wants to play in detroit...Theyve always built conference contenders through trades and signings...rip, sheed, billups, ben wallace, jerry stackhouse, all were acquired.

At some point you need to combine your youth with solid experience. This is a step in that direction if it happens. Either gay, igoudala, or smith. Neither are tier zero players but they can make for a great ensemble team which detroit has always flourished in.

I dont want to give the impression, btw, that i think youre full of shyt or anything, you clearly know your stuff, we just have a different perspective it seems.

I agree, Frank was guilty of not doing this last year this last year for the most part.
