J Kidd and Thibs are doing well only because they have young talent. We will see how that goes..
You need a traditional GM in place. Your coach already has too much on his plate, so why would the owner or whoever makes those decisions allow him to add EVEN MORE stress on his plate with the duties of a GM. They will never win chips like that.

If your tank season is only 8 wins less than a "competitive" season you aren't really tanking. (Super)stars are the battery to an NBA team. Detroit isn't a destination market for stars to sign to, so it's drafting a young star, which you need the lottery for, or make super savvy trades.
