No, friendship isn't being devalued...I think the new forms of media are giving us a huge distraction that we USED to share with each other.
I am friends with a small circle, but its made up of cats from all kinds of backgrounds that have a genuine love for one another. We all want to see each other do well, we support, encourage and help each other out. I take my relationships very serious, and don't want to be around those that don't. I work hard at my relationships whether romantic, platonic, or family and I expect the same from them.
It can't be a one way street. I think that's where the devaluing comes from. Looking at someone as what they can do for you, instead of what can I do to help them or get them to where i am or get myself where they are...
