The lack of empathy some people are stricken with is truly disheartening.
We are living on a very small ball flying thru the universe (whatever that is) for reasons we don't even bother to ask. Yet we collectively as a species (humans) have found time from the beginning of our existence to find whatever differences we have and fight each other to the death over said differences. If I see an a$$hole get what is coming to them then I'll get my schadenfreude on without any ethical dilemma. But seeing random humans get deleted from the game through no fault of their own is a different thing entirely. Now multiply that by however many unfortunate people have met that fate.

I have a sense of humor that takes getting used to but I truly hope in my heart of hearts that yall know I am not a hateful person. When I joke or comment on something in an off color way it's usually in a gallows humor voice with a thick layer of irony underneath it.

That wasn't my implication. I have a background in research. I don't deny the science behind climate change. It is very real. 97%+ of scientist agree on this subject.

I just don't have the same care as you that it is happening in Pakistan. If you said Ethiopia I would care. If you said Haiti I would care.

I don't have to care about the same things as you.
