masai should have held out for a 2025 unprotected smh

yeah but imagine if the raps resigned pascal?

pacers are 10-12 and paying pascal 42 mill this year, 45 the next, 48 the next and 52 the next

I'm no fan of masai, but not falling to fan pressure and resigning lowry, van vleet and siakam was :blessed: all those guys are bums

I like this trade for Indy. The two picks this year are meh and they should still be good in 2026 so that first will be in the late teens or 20s. I look at it as Bruce Brown and a first for Siakam, which is a massive upgrade in talent. They can get him comfortable with the locker room and have a much easier path to re-signing him, which woulda been tougher in free agency.

Even if Indy gives him a 5/$200-230 million deal, their books are pretty clear so it doesn't really hurt them. Not like they'll sign anybody better.

Indy gets another shot creator in the starting lineup, which they needed to take some pressure off Haliburton, especially for the playoffs. A closing unit of Haliburton, Mathurin/Hield, Nesmith, Siakam and Turner looks really good on paper. Their 1-8 is really solid:

Haliburton
Mathurin
Nesmith
Siakam
Turner
McConnell
Hield
Toppin

They still need a backup center but they will be a tough out in the East.

Won't be an issue. The cap is going up a lot in the years going forward.

Hali and Siakam will be $75-90 million which won't even be half the cap. All of their young guys are making pennies for a few more years. They aren't gonna sign anybody better than Siakam either.

Indy is pushing their chips in for the first part of Hali's contention window. When Siakam's deal is up, Haliburton won't even be 30. They're giving him a chance to compete in Indy for his entire prime.
:ehh:

Been an amazing deal for Indy.

Even if he falls off the face of the earth next season, they're going to their first Finals in 25 years.

Crazy they were in such a hurry to get rid of Pascal and OG meanwhile they've not committed to bottoming out, had weak draft picks and their roster is clogged up with bums like Ingram and Barrett. They're in basketball purgatory.

Scottie Barnes , gradey dikk aren't weak draft picks

I'm talking since the trades. Ya'll lost your 2024 pick and are drafting at 9 in 2025. And Scottie ain't the superstar some people hyped him up to be. He's a #3 at best. Where the hell is this team going?

Taking Miami's spot in the play-in. Masai has been horrendous since the Kawhi trade.

It wasnt crazy...They couldnt pay these guys and didnt want to max them out...They bottomed out but the lottery balls didnt work in there favor.
Gradey dikk and Jakobe Walter were relatively good picks....They also picked up Shead and Agbaji off the scrap heap.
