yeah, he was...he was already out there with the underrated Odd Squad album in 94 and his hook on the Scarface/Ice Cube collabo from The Diary, the Facemob album in 96 (which was subpar), plus his great joints on Scarface's My Homies compilation in 98, so industry people (Dre, Snoop etc.) knew him and surely liked his style. learn your history son

The Dude doesn't make bad music. All of them are good. First 4 are his best, but you can't really go wrong with Devin albums; or Coughee Bros.; or Odd Squad.
