War & Peace
Punky Brewster will see some of WWE's most popular Superstars join Soleil Moon Frye, who reprises the titular role in Peacock's revival. WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley confirmed his involvement with the show as a producer before revealing that both Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair will be involved.
"I'm out here in LA, doing…producing…helping to produce a show with Alexa Bliss and Charlotte [Flair]. It's Punky Brewster; it's an old '80s show here in America that we basically used to watch as a kid," D-Von explained in a Cameo message to a fan. "Now it's come back, like everything else has from the '80s, and so now I'm out here producing and helping and choreographing, just like I do in WWE right now."
Dave Meltzer has since confirmed that Bliss missed last Monday's RAW because she was filming her part on the revival.
The original Punky Brewster, which was about a young girl being raised by a foster parent, ran on NBC from 1984 to 1988 and was even popular enough to receive an animated spinoff series featuring the original cast. The animated show consisted of 26 episodes and ran from 1985-1986. Peacock revealed its plans for the Punky Brewster revival series in June 2019, with the show telling the story of a grown-up Punky, now a single mother to three kids and struggling to get her life back on track. Her kids end up meeting and connecting with a young girl who happens to remind Punky of herself in her youth.
Starring Soleil Moon Frye, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Cherie Johnson, Punky Brewster will stream on Peacock.
Only in 2020.
