Dr. Evelyn Vogel is obviously trying to get rid of all the serial killers that she helped treat and create and she's using/manipulating Dexter to do it. She will then attempt to kill Dexter. Her most prized student.
My guess is that Dexter dies at Deb's hands in the last episode right after he kills the Doctor.
