I don't think it's clear at all. Defender didn't even touch him. He loses his balance in a desperate attempt to lung for the goalline. Which is what every receiver in the league is gonna do when they catch a ball within the 5 yard line. At the 30, I don't think he goes down, I think he sprints pass the falling defender. I've seen him do this before

I can see why folks are arguing that he was falling as a part of the catch, but I don't see it that way.

When you leap into the air and come down unbalanced and your momentum is bringing you to the ground, it's pretty clear to me.

Any slight stumble in him coming down means clearly the catch aided to him going to the ground

Categorizing it as stumbling all you want if he took that "stumble" to keep his feet in bounds we'd call it keeping his feet in bounds. He took three steps. The catch was established after the second
And when he fell out of bounds and the ball touched the ground it'd be incomplete. Yes your think it'd be a catch but if you've been paying attention to football you'd know according to the rules it wasn't. Maybe they'll change it. Maybe they won't. They should have changed it when they robbed megaton years ago. I don't know why yall mad we are interpreting the NFLs rule book.

Again, I don't see it that way. He was only stumbling cuz he was desperately trying to break the plane of the goal line given how close he was.

Defender doesn't even touch him. He only jumps straight up to make the catch (he's not stretching out or diving for it), why would he magically be stumbling after making that catch?

Consider these other instances of Dez making jump ball type catches, often whilst being hit by the defender (approximate times of plays in question: 0:27, 1:27, 3:30, 5:50) without falling to the ground

Yet you want me to believe that's it's the act of the catch as opposed to the lung for the end zone that's bringing him to the ground? :childplease:

Here's the thing though, you can't expect a ref to judge a player by every catch he ever made, you go by the play.

You can't do that nonsense. Link other catches to this one as some sort of evidence, the game isn't played that way and shouldn't be judged that way.

Judge the play as it is, one singular play

I'm expecting the ref to see him clearly lunging for the goalline taking three steps in the process.

One thing this play does is show the vagueness of the rule as it applies to how many steps you've taken. If he's falling backwards, takes 3 steps and a player hits him to dislodge the ball it's considered a fumble. But if the ground causes that, it's a dead play? That makes no sense. After the 3rd step, that play should be alive regardless of where it moves after that .

It looked like a catch to me. But what do I know. :manny:

But they deserved to get screwed over like that, There was too much b.s. going on in the detroit game and then these cowboys players and fans being in denial about what is clear on video.

The universe needed to correct it.

Now these boyz know the feeling of the point we were all trying to make last week. Games should not be decided in that fashion. Refs and technicalities

:dez:
nikkas out here learning from their cac brethren. Why don't y'all stop being cowards and say y'all hate the Boys instead of acting like grade school bytches coming up with stupid reasons why this happened and is cool. nikkas if the Det play didn't happen would still be saying the same shyt so just be honest about it. shyt ain't nothing wrong with hating on the boys but making half ass reasons why that's cacs with their " I don't like him cause he showboats" ass flows which is so :scust:.

Remember what y'all said last week. One play doesn't determine a game :ahh:

All that would have happened was give Aaron Gawdgers more time :ahh:

Tuesdays with Aaron this week :ahh:

@3Rivers

Make it happen :myman:
