I find that people who say this kind miss the blaxploitation angle that they were playing up, show was crack.

Diamonback was def a downgrade from Cottonmouth as far as the show goes, he was dope in Boardwalk though so thats more on the writers.

his motivations were way less grounded, especially seeing how in the comics their relationship is a bit different.
had to be different storyline from the comic Luke was a former gang leader and pimp in the comic in this he is a wholesome hero from the jump.

I really hated this show brehs. I'm sorry. I tried to support it coz it was unapologetically black at times, but the story was wack and the acting was even worse.

Daredevil Season 1 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Except what blaxploitation angle?

That was the theme of the old comics, but this shyt is pretty much basic shallow written comic book fluff. Nothing anyone does in this shyt makes much sense even for the genre.

Best thing about the whole series was CottonMouth and they killed him off in the dumbest way possible just to introduce a new villain with the depth of a puddle. I mean I was looking forward to this shyt and they fukked it all the way up.

Lemonade's a popular drink :sas1:

And it still is :sas2:

In the comic book shades had powers similar to cyclops

Honestly Black Mariah :mjpls:

Scared me the most. She would be calm one moment and then throw a tantrum killing brehs.

Cottonmouth and Misty( who better get her own spin off and her goddamn bionic arm) made the show from being absolute shyt.

He is also orginally from Harlem and his pops was a cop and an Avenger .
yup the mighty avengers but that came recently before that they didnt harp on his dad outside of the story that was going with him and his brother coldfire but even that came way after luke cage first started up in the 1970's. they retconned luke's story and made his father an avenger with blade back in the 70's

Naw, I peeped that... but the reason why I say that was a let down from Daredevil is because: Why they gotta do Luke Cage from a 'blaxploitation' angle? Why can't they give a black superhero a deep series, with non-cheesy acting, multiple angles of a backstory (like in DD), character development, etc. etc. Like I said, watching this after Daredevil makes me feel like this is damn near a comedy.

I liked Diamondback. They shouldn't have gotten rid of cottonmouth though. The acting is the same level with all of the Marvel Netflix shows.

Because the blaxploitation angle is a vital part of the source material and serves to kick off or help kick off an era where there is like a rensinance for black led TV shows the way those films did in the 70's.

When he offered her the lemonade and they went to those lines I had to fight the urge to log off.

Way too many cheesy lines like that, plus bad acting and worse writing.

I felt like I was watching Belly.
