From Dice

“I though Kendrick’s performance was good — I was watching/not watching — until I got a phone call asking me what I thought,” Dice Raw said while speaking with Philly.com. “Oh yeah, the prison thing. That’s a point. Then the gold cages onstage, yeah that’s another coincidence. Are those musicians in cages? OK. African dance in the middle of that montage — another coincidence, too. My legal team and the production crew behind the L.A. performance took to social media very quickly and heatedly to say that Lamar has borrowed elements of the last jimmy — at least in their opinion.”

Last Jimmy Performance from Dice Raw :ld:

Might take legal action :leon:

“Something stolen? I don’t know,” he said. “If something did happen, I’d just like Kendrick to call me, you know. It’s sad that — if somebody took something. Maybe it happened subconsciously. We’re both fighting the same fight. I’m sure the brothers who are incarcerated appreciate his efforts. Lamar and I can’t aim attacks at each other. The real enemy is unseen — who is pulling the strings behind mass incarceration and all this new Jim Crow madness. It isn’t Kendrick Lamar — he’s not the enemy...but maybe his choreographer is.”

Much respect to Dice Raw for not playing into the media's hands and being diplomatic about it and not attacking his brother.

With that said if Kendrick or the people that organized his show set ever seen a video of Dice's set then this is blatant theft.

But being as I never even heard of the Last Jimmy there is a chance that Kendrick didn't either.

Popular artist always steal from just as talented lesser known artist and their excuse is always "I never heard it, I never seen it"
Sadly, either way Kendrick is drawing worldwide acclaim for something Dice did first, that has to have him feeling :sadcam:

That jail cell rapping concept isn't unique . Anyone could have thought of that

Anyone could have thought of a phone that you can video chat with people in real time. Only apple brought it to life in a idiot consumer friendly way. It doesn't matter if anyone could have thought of something, Dice Raw did and brought it to life. Kendrick's performance is derivative at best, plain theft at worst. IF he saw Dice's show before his grammy performance. (very believable considering the roots connection, similar content etc)

the prison thing - another coincidence
the gold cages - another coincidence
musicians in cages - another coincidence
African dance in the middle of that montage - another coincidence

It's just hard to believe that great minds think alike four times during one performance.

I see how it is so easy it is to steal from people nowadays. People always side with popularity now :sas2:
