Did anyone play that Shenmue game way back in the day on the GameCast?

They see me trolling, they hating.....
Didn't Shenmue more or less have the same popularity and sell about the same units as Max Payne (Well maybe not since Max was multiplatform)

I guess what I'm saying is that if it took almost a decade for them to release a sequel to Max Payne 2 then all hope isn't lost for Shenmue 3

I was holding off playing shenmue 2 for years. I think im going to finally dl it and play it. I was just hoping pt 3 would come out and I can play them back to back. Just imagine the possibilities of a next gen shemue. Btw it cost sega 100mil to make part 1 and and I think pt2 didn't do too well to the fact it was only released in europe on the dc by the time the dc was dead and on the og xbox. Should have ported to the ps2

100 mill?
:what:

nikkas who are artistically talented and have programing skills could make that game in their basement nowadays b

Playing Shenmue 2 now, some lil kid just stole my bag of money.

Game is cool but I feel like games like Yakuza and Sleeping Dogs surpassed it.

but I guess for something that came out in 1999-2001 it was pretty mind blowing at the time

Yakuza is a lot closer to Shenmue than Sleeping Dogs. What you gotta understand about the Shenmue series(especially Shenmue II) are all the timed sequences that you only see on certain dates or at certain times...Or seeing scenes different ways by doing(or not doing) something. Very few games(Yakuza comes close) do that now-a-days...The game has an atmosphere that is unmatched even with the technology moving forward so much in the last 10 years.

Yakuza comes damn close though and I love that series as well.

Breh when I fired up Shenmue on the dreamcast I was

NOTHING was messing with what that game was trying to accomplish. It was amazing and cost almost 70 million to make...which was unheard of at the time. Max Payne sold well and did very well, but Rockstar lost an incredible amount of money on Max Payne 2 thus the delay...and Max Payne 3 did not sell great either.

Strange comparison...out of all games I would say Max Payne 1 is the best, but they are very different games.

Simply put, Sega does not have Rockstar money...so it might never happen.

Can I save anywhere in Shenmue 2 or just at certain spots?

game looks great on an HDTV as long as u put it in wide zoom to get rid of the black bars on the side

Doesn't stretch the image out at all, had to do the same ish with Sonic Adventure.

S.M.B 4 EVER
:smh: tell me about it breh. you don't even know breh, it rubbed me the wrong way and was like the ultimate :pacspit: to Shenmue fans and people who played the game. I was pissed off for years at Sega, I even sold my Dreamcast, both Shenmue's and all my other games since I knew there wouldn't be another one, but than I bought the Dreamcast and both Shenmue games again like 2-3 years later :damn: I was like fukk mann I gotta play this again. The game was like real life to me.

LOL, I did a similar thing but I just gave my Dreamcast away to a friend. Since I was upset with Sega for stopped supporting the Dreamcast and going software developer only. I am about to eat :eat: real good though my Fiance has a Dreamcast so all I need to do is go on Amazon a pick up copy of Shenmue 1. I still got Shenmue 2 for the OG XBOX.

Was playing Shenmue II (via Xbox360) last night.....

I'm still looking for that nikka that killed my father, been staying at this chinese pawgs crib. before that I was staying at some cheap motel and every morning the landlord would ask me if I had any money to pay rent, i'd always say "Nah" even though I got like 300 on me :russ:

Whats the highest amount of dough I'll need to attempt to "end" it?

I don't really feel like working any more bullshyt jobs....the 300 i got now came from a shytty crate lifting job that paid $30, kept gambling until I made 300.

btw, Back in the day I always thought Dreamcast games like Shenmue looked better than most PS2 games, but now I'm realizing that was just a case of thinking the grass is greener on the other side. FFX's visuals look far more detailed and better than Shenmue II and they came out around the same time. Game is dope tho.

the one thing that annoys me is the fact that I'm always having to fight like 10 guys at once, wtf

can a nikka please get a fair fight bros? :wtf:
