maybe I’m just :flabbynsick: and maybe this should go in the random thoughts thread but I’m searching for NOME and can’t find that shyt not even for replay on the caffeine app :snoop:

shyt has me like :shaq2: honestly. Is this shyt supposed to be watch only once live and that’s it? Part of what I love about URL and battle rap is rewatching battles and seeing crowd reactions etc.

The only way you can watch those battles again is on the app for 7.99 a month. I don't recall them ever replaying the live events on Caffeine.

The lack of youtube engagement has hurt the culture in general though since it's harder to get the casuals interested when they can't peep when they want to.

Nah, once the app came they basically transitioned away from dropping timely content on youtube.
Still a waste though, over a million subscribers basically going to waste.

hell nah, caffeine if anythihng benefitted URL and the culture greatly. A lot more promotion, money for the battlers so we're able to get more big matches and so on. Like theflyest said there's a pandemic, so no big stage events. If anything I think that it's the lack of youtube content that's hurting the new battlers, because they can't get their shyt out there.

maybe I’m just too casual? I want to watch TSU Surf and Lux and can’t find it without paying 8 bucks a month to yet another streaming service.

seems kinda backwards. If they want more and more views, they were probably getting that on YouTube

They off youtube if i remember because the way the Youtube is set up, they started reducing payouts for "violent material" which i think battle rap fell under.

URL Cashed out with the App shortly after, but thats before the Caffeine shyt was set up.

The App is now the youtube for battle rap, and Caffeine is the new watchbattlelive without the archive.

correct me if I am wrong because I never delved in to it deeply but Caffeine's entry was due to URL payout wasnt big enough and the URL app infrastructure wasnt prepared to handle the bandwidth for live events. Hell, even early on Caffeine video transport was trash for live events.

But like I said, I'd have no problem paying if they kept an archive. Ain’t got time to scour subreddits for shady links to files varying in quality. I'll pay for the convenience of an archive.
