They stopped releasing videos on youtube because the money just wasn't there anymore. Youtube doesn't pay ANYWHERE near as much as they used to and on top of that they are aggressively toning down ads on "violent" material which battle rap falls under.
Lack of youtube drops from a fan perspective hurts. But from a business side they kinda had no choice. People want bigger and bigger battles that requires more and more money yet they aren't recouping that dropping the material on youtube.
Now with that said i do feel like URL not dropping ANY battles on Youtube is still crazy. No reason stuff like the crucibles/survivor series matchups can't drop on youtube.
Also the top tiers should start putting it in their contract that they battles drop on youtube after a certain amount of months from dropping on the app.

They lost me after they left YouTube. Battle rap seems super irrelevant right now because without out YouTube they are getting no exposure. There is no hype around any of the battles and it seems like they took some steps backwards going behind a paywall. It’s not popular enough outside it’s hardcore base to just leave YouTube all together.

Battle rap has gotten MORE exposure being one of the only sports that kept moving when the pandemic first broke. They were only competing with the UFC, caffiene has ads for battles all over socials, cards were being talked about on JBP like every other week

The goal of a business is to make more money. They didn't take any steps backwards by leaving YT. All they lost are casual fans that don't buy PPVs or subscriptions. Caffeine and the URLTV app bring more money to URL than YT. That's not a negative
With that being said, they should still upload a couple battles from young gunners to bring them more exposure for the battlers' sake. Promoting the battlers leads to more possible names that might headline a card

Same, I downloaded it and tried to see what I had to do to start watching battles and every time I clicked a video it just played the same ad/promotional video over and over. I deleted that jawn and aint been back since, this was like a year ago
