Nyggas being nyggas right on schedule. You're not an extremely successful black man until somebody's accusing you of stealing, being weak version of _______ or a sellout. Welcome to success Donald Glover. This truly IS America.

I always assume that these artists either steal or just straight hire nikkas to pen their careers anyway. There are way too many artists out here trying whole different ass styles on every album and shyt. Ain’t no way these people are just coming up with some of this shyt themselves. If DG stole the beat style then he should pay.. It is what it is.

No, the true sign of success is when people are so enthralled with personality and popularity, their faves can do no wrong.
From pissing on kids, to being dopefiend woman beaters, to stealing pieces of music/andy warhol types being praised and credited, down to giving depth to the contrived catchphrase "coined" by said artist.
Irony is real.

i have a real problem with art that is copied.
whether it be physical or audio. it just doesn't sit right with me.
sometimes I understand, on the physical side - to change a logo or w/e .. but to brand someone elses art as yourselfs is corny.

needless to say this ruins this is america for me

Meh. I'm the most cynical person on the face of the planet, but you can miss me with this self-righteous social commentary on celebrity. I get all that, I wake up in America just like everybody else. Lots of that is true, but none of it explains why every successful black face (hell, any face) that has ever existed also gets painted as a thief, a con artist, and has their creativity questioned at a certain success level without fail. Ever. Single. One. Jay-Z is rhyme biter who "stole" flows. Puffy is a conman and a thief who stole 80's beats and other artist's work. Kanye uses ghostwriters, ghost-producers and steals beats (probably true)/ Kevin Hart is a joke thief who uses writers. Dr. Dre stole his beats from Daz. You name a successful black artist and I'll name the accusations against them, mostly by the black community.

I can judge for myself what I believe and don't believe. I don't have to automatically think a successful celeb is a thief anymore than I have to think they're a God because they're famous. I think these two songs have similar African tribal rhythms. I don't think Glover stole it because I don't have reason to think a guy this talented took some obscure song off the internet. I start seeing more evidence to the contrary, get back to me.

We're not talking about those people or those situations.
We're talking about a beat, cadence, word selection + denial and deleted tweet in reference to said recording.
