I think it was overstated, especially after Nas said something. Jay's second verse on that track is one of my favorite verses of all time. I felt like I connected with it. Em's flow was dope, but it was filler to me. Not whack at all, but I always rewind for Jay's verse. Different strokes for different folks but that whole Em murdered Jay was waaay overblown.

Ever since that track dropped it's been a coin flip as per opinion... the "Eminem murdered you on your own shyt" line was a reflection of a lot of public opinion, split or not.

Nobody was talking about people getting murdered on their own shyt before ether. Yea, they compared verses or talked about it being a dope collab or whatnot, but this shyt about gettin murdered, totally dismissing the other dudes verse, started with Ether. Especially on

All I remember is that no one was saying that Eminem killed Jay on Renegade until Ether dropped.

Since then these Nas dikriders just went with the flow and now they act like that they felt the same way since day 1

Personally, I preferred Jay on that track but I can see why someone would be more inclined towards Eminem.

But this doesnt mean he murdered Jay on that track and vice versa.
