Taxi driver
You're my shrink for the hour
Leave the meter running
It's rush hour
So take the streets if you wanna
Just outrun the demons, could you?
He said "allahu akbar", I told him don't curse me
"but boy you need prayer", I guess it couldn't hurt me
If it brings me to my knees
It's a bad religion

dunno what you heard, but thats what it says on rap genius.......

:stopitslime:

Give a shyt about what he says, the fact he just said it's a curse means I've got issues with this song.

:beli: You listened to a song where a singer in part discusses his problems with religion, and then get upset at a line like that?

Lol who gives a fukk about that phrase, all Arabic phrases sounds like they are cursing.
The metaphor is what he thought was a curse, was actually a blessing.

Obviously some people could think that it's a curse, since it's what terrorists say before they blow up the place or execute women for not wanting to be married to their cousins or whatever fukk goes on over there.

How do you listen to hip hop if you take every line at face value and don't think/apply any critical thinking to it? How did you make it that far into the album without thinking about the abstract nature of the lyrics :heh:

The interpretations I saw were either that one, that he didn't understand and thought the taxi driver was cursing at him in some other language.

Or that he did understand, and the idea of someone telling him that God was great, didn't vibe with him. The feelings he has for a man doesn't match up with God's teachings and he was trying to run away from those beliefs. Saying God is great is in a way :pacspit: on Frank.
