Did Lil Wayne ruin our upcoming youth by making them bloods, get tats and express their gayness?

Its amazing he and his crew are being hailed as being so influential. They are virtually hitless. I go to rachet clubs sometimes and they dont even play that drill shyt. Just strictly internet

I think the most insidious thing about him and his crew is that most of their audience is so young; the club scene doesn't give them much attention because not many people out of high school really appreciate drill music. I go to the local YMCA or something though, every kid is walking around with Chief Keef's dreads and shouting his ad libs.

Edit: Who knows, maybe because the town I live in has been dubbed "Little Chicago" by the people who think it's anything like Chicago, they're just emulating it as much as they can.

Nah its my area too, I live in NJ and most people in the age group of 14-23 are all influenced by him... from walking around randomly screaming out his adlibs/lyrics, using chicago slang to making struggle songs that sound like drill music doing the same movements chicago rappers do in their videos(100 nikkas in the background doing that shawty lo dance and making gun gestures with their hands)

Ive personally never seen a rapper that much influence on a community before, its amazing how bad people wanna be like chief keef

Lets not act like N.O. was Pleasantville before the rise of Wayne tho. shyt was the murder capital of the world for quite a few years.

New Orleans didn't have a gang problem like it does now, I never implied that the city was a utopia.

Its a lot of white people and blogs tbh. like those dudes at Vice & Noisey

I've been around a good amount of those people here in hipsterfied BK. I don't like any of those bloggers and I think they lame AF. They don't know anything about that life, or hip-hop, and just report on it from a safe and disconnected distance that hipsters and suburbanites can relate to.

I had a real telling experience with a female Noisey writer my roommate was dating. Ever since then, I've developed an extreme hatred for their ilk.

Yeah

Like I listen to mostly hip hop but i never lived that or really been apart of hip hop culture and dont feel im in a position to be some music critic or blog writer for it.

Id write about punk, i have before just randomly on a music blog i had i used to share music on, just giving little reviews under albums id recommended..but I was apart of that culture.

Going to hip hop shows a few times a year, listening to it and buying it doesnt make me apart of the culture.

A lot of those review sites are just so cringe worthy with their pseudo intellectualism that has thinly veiled racist feel to it
