Why does this big black guy have such a soft voice?

He's been around Becky and Brad for so long he now has a permanent non-threatening, 'white' voice.

Early 80s MJ was influenced a lot by Stevie Wonder. He even got his hiccup from him. James Brown and Jackie Wilson were a huge influence. Barry Gibb and Diana Ross were a driving force. People acting like he stole the moonwalk from Jeffery Daniel. He was an employee. He hired him as a choreographer, he literally was his main choreographer when Michael Peter left. He always credited his heroes. This Alonzo character grew up watching MJ not vice versa. That’s not to say that MJ didn’t borrow from time to time, but when you have Quincy, Toto, Louis Johnson from Brothers Johnson, James Ingram and Eddie Van Halen on your album, why you stealing from this nikka?

Btw, fully formed adult MJ was complete by the Jacksons Triumph album in 1980.

MJ's style was established dating back to the jackson 5 days in the 70s on the ed sullivan show before dudes like this even got it to music. MJ was spinning and heeheeing since way before jerycurls. So showing anybody that isn't in black and white on some Jackie wilson shyt probably means they got their influence from MJ and not the other way around.
The osmonds were copying MJ's style in 1976. How would say MJ was copying some dude in what is clearly the 80s

Show me an entertainer from the 60s or 50s and i might believe you. But 80s cmon son.

This

These posters really believe that MJ had this loser tied up in the basement like he was on OVO’s payroll.

James brown inspired MJ especially with the dancing. Let's not forget that.

I actually remember that Alfonzo song. My pops was deep into music

But NO, this is a MJ bite. Mike Jack had his whole vocal style complete by the time they changed record labels and became The Jacksons. That would be sometime around ‘76 ish

So Cal
I love MJ, but he took the moonwalk right from shalomar. cued it up here:

Gap Band might've been the first pop act to do it. American music awards a year before Motown 25. Charlie Wilson said he got it from baby gap. :hubie:

He also said that performance is the first time a black artist had pyro.
