What did you expect? First black president is huge, imagine if our country tanked under him. How long you think till the next black president would be elected? Also professionals not politicians run DC. Lobbyists (money) and career military (national security obv) and others that have huge interests and no term limits have more power than anyone in govt if they stand together.
He did what he could without alienating the establishment too much. Yeah his words were bigger than his actions. Which president isn't guilty of that?

No he didn't but when the public turned on him and he lost the congress it was impossible for him to do anything anyway.

11th Best President of all time, if Dems get the White House after he leaves, he will be the first Democrat in the modern era to usher in 3 consecutive Democratic Terms, and he'll be Top 10.

The bar isn't especially high however. of the 43 men that have been president (Obama is #44 but Grover Cleveland is #22/#24 chronologically), 11 of them are 1 term Presidents, Obama ranks higher than them merely by keeping the job when they got kicked out at the first available opportunity. 12 of the remaining owned slaves, not sure how you feel about that, but at best they'd be great men that committed crimes against humanity and you gotta take out McKinley, Woodrow Wilson, Coolidge, Harding and Truman as all 5 were card carrying members of the KKK, a domestic terrorist group. That only leaves fukking 15 left, and I'll put Obama's record over Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan and George W. Bush.

11th, and he'll only go higher. What a time to be alive brehs. :wow:

some of his major policies can't be judged until 20-30 years from now

however, death of Bin Laden, no economic crash, supreme court justice nominations that helped legalize gay marriage, some of his policies re: the middle east can be considered good things for him

also, his administration emerged scandal free and he is perceived as competent, which will ensure his legacy remains positive. He wasn't out here getting head like Clinton or wasn't a blubbering idiot like GW Bush.

In terms of legacy, his floor will be Bill Clinton (loved by his own party, hated but respected by his opposition), and depending on how his policies turn out, he could be the Democratic version of Reagan (his party admires him like a god, even 30 years after his presidency)
