Seeing someone accused of being an industry plant has never made me turn their music off.

Let the Coli tell it, if they found out 2 Pac was somehow an industry plant today they'd have deleted all his music from their hard drives by tomorrow.:pachaha:

As far as I'm concerned, it's irrelevant. If I enjoy the music, I enjoyed it. That's it that's all.

Kendrick was entrenched in the local l.a underground scene before interscope so that's not valid.

Unlike Travis scott who was entrenched in mimicking other rappers styles

Kendrick is not a "Plant"

Being aided by a hidden benefactor all while maintain the stance that your reaching prominence totally independently is being a
"Industry Plant" Not knowing or working with someone before getting famous.

And especially not being signed before the world hears your and being honest about your label situation when they do.

Drake, Travis Scott & Asap Rocky are Industry Plants not Kendrick
:dwillhuh: How are any of them plants?
Drake has been rapping for over a decade, and collaborated with damn near everybody before he blew up, I was listening to his mixtapes, along without tousands of other kids, back in middle school.
ASAP Rocky blew up by using Tumblr and being connected with the other 100 social media superstars from his area, and it was a slow explosion. I watched the fashion posts, the freestyle videos that used to Yam's page, Ferg's dad worked with Diddy, this wasn't a sudden rise, this was overtime.
I was hearing about Travis Scott back on Myspace when I was a freshmen in high school, damn near six years ago.
I've even been hearing about Iggy since high school, back when she was dating Rocky, and dropped that song "p*ssy" that was a part of those popular cheaply-shot videos perfect for "trill" and "swag" blogs.

Here's the thing though, as long as the music is good nobody gives a fukk. I've never heard the term "industry plant" in real life and I been into rap 30 years. This type of shyt isn't a factor, at all.

If I go on here, and somebody says....let's say Kendrick is a plant....and I play his new song for people....they are going to rate it totally independent of whether or not he's a plant.

That's what you guys don't seem to comprehend. People like what they like. Interscope or whoever can pull every trick in the book, if the actual music doesn't deliver it's irrelevant.

Fred.
This statement is absolute nonsense. It insinuates that promotion is a non-factor.
When someone is a plant,it allows them the opportunity that their talent alone might not have brought them, while making it seem like it was organic the whole time.
Everyone on this planet has heard a song that "grew on them".
If you they keep playing a song via payola etc or getting it promoted to via suggested internet post or faux internet board members then it will increase your visibility which will give you multiple chances to win over fans.
ANd that's always a factor.
Let's look at the homos.
Look how they were viewed 20 yrs ago vs now. People didnt wake up and say "hey we're wrong".
They were told over and over and over and gays who came out were celebrated over and over till that disgusting lifestyle was accepted by the masses.
Now YOU might not be moved a certain way but you're one person.
The masses are easily brainwashed though

Great post. Some people seems to not understand what a plant is.
