Ross wasn't in 50 radar when he started taking shots. 50 music quality dwindled added with Ye, Lupe, Wale, and ultimately Drake, and later Cole cane along. The demographics of rap shifted entirely. Just by being a southern rap artist or being associated with them guaranteed you a damn hit at one point.
Edit: Freaking French, rocky, and Nicky(who was literally running mainstream rap with Drake) were top 10 acts. So cut it out
