Basically, shyt can be real confusing if you're not from NYC though. Puerto Ricans and Blacks have always fukked (literally and figuratively) with each other from growing up in the same neighborhoods. It may not be what it was 70-90's, but there's still some semblance of a bond there. Plus PR's will put a baby in anyone besides a Dominican or Mexican chick (I dare any PR nygga to call me a liar on that lol), so they can't really go as hard with racist shyt.
Then the Dominicans came here, but Ricans don't fukk with Dominicans. Dominicans on a whole have more African blood than Puerto Ricans, but their people have shed blood to distinguish themselves from Black people (Haitians specifically) so they don't really mess with Black people, or the idea of identifying as "Black".
